A Reminder to Achieve Your Goals

Can you believe we're already approaching the beginning of Febuary 2024? If anything true that I hear from many is that time goes by, however, it’s never to late to start!

Remember the intentions you set for yourself on New Year's Eve? Whether it was improving your nutrition, losing weight, or increasing productivity, it's still achievable despite the winter blues.

To ensure success, try using the SMART technique. Setting a goal of “I want to lose weight” is bleh and uninspiring!

Instead, make it Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound (SMART). Your goal should be clear, measurable, realistic, meaningful to you based on your intentions, needs, and ability, and done in a timely manner.

Ready to go from "I wanna lose weight" to "I'll crush this weight loss goal!"? That's where SMART goal setting comes in! Instead of vague wishes, make it specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. For example, “I will go to the gym three times a week, using a program over the next six months, to lose 30 pounds before my wedding day in May."

This goal meets the SMART criteria since it is specific to the individual's desire to lose weight, quantifiable as she aims to work out three times a week for six months, achievable since losing 30 pounds can be done safely and effectively in six months, and relevant since it aligns with her wedding day in May.

Setting a SMART goal enables you to identify your true motivation behind the goal. So, what's your goal for the end of 2024? Maybe you want to run a half marathon, do 5 chin-ups, or drink half a gallon of water per day. Whatever your goal is, make it meaningful and give yourself a clear timeframe to achieve it.

Remember, it’s never too late to start. You got this, chica!
