When it comes to staying motivated during workouts, having the perfect gym playlist is essential for both myself and the fitness group class participants I instruct. Crafting your playlist can be enjoyable yet time-consuming, but it allows you to familiarize yourself with the songs and anticipate what's coming. Fortunately, Spotify offers pre-made playlists tailored to the workout mood you desire.
These playlists can range from high-energy beats for intense cardio sessions to more mellow tunes for yoga or stretching sessions. The key is to find music that not only keeps you moving but also elevates your mood and makes the workout feel more enjoyable. As an instructor, I often see the impact that the right music can have on the motivation and energy levels of my class participants. It creates a sense of unity and helps everyone push through those tough moments together. So, whether you're working out solo or in a group setting, never underestimate the power of a good gym playlist to fuel your fitness journey.
Here are my top 3 playlists on Spotify: 
1. BRB, at the gym being a Hot Latina Baddie: Well, I am a Hispanic woman so that may be a little biased, but hear me out! This playlist is hands down great for your booty workout or simply as you are getting ready for the gym and you’re hyping yourself up. The playlist contains great rhythms of today’s Spanish top hit songs and even old school reggaeton. A variety of songs from the OGs such as Don Omar, Daddy Yankee, and Wisin y Yandel; plus the newer wave of artists such as Karol G, Bad Bunny, Kali Uchis, and Peso Pluma is included in the playlist. If you start shaking your bum-bum at the gym, don't say that I didn’t tell you so. I usually enjoy listening to this playlist during my warm-up to get me hype. Also it's a great way for me to channel in the Muscle Mami within me and I'm sure it can do the same for you 😉💃🏻 Plus who else doesnt enjoy to shake their booty to Spanish rhytm!
2. GymCore: If you're into heavy bass, trap music, and the kind of vibes that make you want to rockt out, the GymCore playlist is perfect for you. Just like the playlist's cover image, you'll feel like you're transforming into a Super Saiyan. The GymCore playlist has been my go-to during challenging upper body workouts when my energy levels were low before hitting the gym. When an energizing song from GymCore starts playing while I'm doing Military Press, I feel pumped up and my workout mood completely shifts. Even in the weightlifting classes I've led, it's amazing to see how music has the power to transform one's mood, making you feel like a total badass who can lift weights like a character from Dragon Ball Z.
3. BeastMode Dance: Oh, this playlist is pure gold, especially for those sweat-drenched cardio sessions! It's like magic how the tunes groove perfectly with your moves, heartbeat, and breath - you just feel that extra oomph to push harder. Music is a superpower, and I strongly believe this playlist will boost your speed, uplift your mood, and even make you want to dance while exercising. It definitely pumps up the energy during cardio-themed classes. Give it a go during your next HIIT workout!
